Happy Thanksgiving 3 Girl JAMmers.  This is Cheri from  DJ's Sundries .  I have so much to be thankful for and I love celebrating this holiday.  I trust you do too.  I have a little inspiration for you if you're not too busy eating turkey leftovers. But first... have you checked out the current challenge over on the 3 Girl JAM challenge blog?  It's a color challenge and you should really link a project.  I'll be linking this one.  You will be able to link your project at the bottom of this post. In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I have a thank you note for you today.  Now I must admit, that I just didn't sit down at my desk and decide to make a thank you note on the day I made this.  It actually came about as I was putting scraps away from my 3 Girl JAM challenge project.  I needed a thank you note and knew that I could use the leftover pieces from the Cutting Cafe and make a quick card.  I used the Merlot 3 Girl JAM ribbon to make my little medallion.  Here a

Pink and Blue Altered Clipboard

Image
Today I have a fun project that I made for my niece.  I have been swamped trying to get ready for Thanksgiving as well as preparing Christmas gifts for those family members I will be seeing over Thanksgiving.  (You have to save on shipping when you can, right?) To make this I used a small clipboard, some washi tape, 3 Girl JAM "Pink and Blue" bundle, Cricut Mini Monograms, and scrap from my stash.  I used some ruby ink from CTMH to ink around the monogram edges. Here's the video along with a quick crafty tip. Thanks for stopping by today and be sure to take a few minutes to enjoy the little things.

Mini Thank You Notes

Welcome to another challenge on the 3 Girl JAM Challenge Blog.  I have a really simple little card for you today, but first lets talk about the current challenge. We are being sponsored by the Cutting Cafe.   This week's challenge is a Thanksgiving Color Challenge using ribbon.  Isn't this a beautiful color palette?   Be sure to link up your Thanksgiving project for a chance to win a prize. Now to my project.  I decided to make a very simple little card for you today.  Why simple?  Because I wanted to show you how easy it is to use the images at the Cutting Cafe (and because I made 60 cards).  I grabbed some Coral Crush and Witches Brew ribbon from 3 Girl JAM.  I also grabbed this printable set from the Cutting Cafe and was ready to start. I also used Kraft cardstock from JoAnn's and green cardstock by Coordinations from JoAnn's.  I re-sized the circles to 1.7" on my computer and used the one that was all black.  I then printed the backgr

Days of Thanks #14 - November 14, 2012

Today I am thankful for a great team of co-workers.  Today was one of those days when our regular AM crew needed some serious back-up support.  Our manager and a co-worker from another department came and helped for quite a while.  The Lord had just the people we needed at the right time.  I am so thankful for this and for their willingness to step in and help. What are you thankful for today?

Days of Thanks #12 - November 12, 2012

Today I am thankful for Danskos (remember I told you some of these would be a little out there).  I have been wearing these fabulous shoes for a few years.  I have to say that most of the time I make it home without aching legs or feet and that says alot after some of my shifts. Lately I have been having some trouble and decided I should probably look into getting a new pair.  Then I heard that I should get 2 and alternate them to make them last longer.  Can you hear the cash register say "feed me, feed me"?  This bring me to my second thanks of the day.  I am thankful for honest salesmen who helped me get the correct orthotic for my old shoes.  I then bought 1 pair of shoes and one pair of orthotics.  Guess what, Danskos are not meant to be replaced every 6 months. Woo Hoo! Yes... It's the little things!

Holiday Craft Plans

Can you believe that it's already time to start thinking about Christmas crafts?  Many of you have probably been doing this for awhile already.  In this video, I discuss what I did to prepare for Christmas crafting (and it started months ago).  I also update you on some of the projects you can expect to see over the next 2 months.  Not ready to start thinking about Christmas yet?  That's OK.  I will also be posting other projects.  There will be at least 2 Thanksgiving projects as well as the normal birthday cards and gifts. WOW!  I have a lot to do.  I guess that means that I should get to sleep so that I can get busy bright and early in the morning.  I know we are busy and have alot to do.  However, I would like to remind you of a couple of things before I sign off: 1.  Don't be too busy over the next several weeks to forget the PERSON we are celebrating. 2.  Don't let stress and busyness get you down or pull you away from your family. 3.  Take some time t

Days of Thanks #10 & #11

Well, I got behind.  It's not that I wasn't thankful.  It's that I didn't get it posted. 1. On Saturday the 10th, I was very thankful for a good day at work.  I was busy, but things slowed down enough that I volunteered to go home early.  Since this was my 3rd day in a row, I was tired and cold and ready to go home.  It was also one of those days when I felt like I actually really helped people feel better - inside and out.  I have such a great job! 2. On Sunday the 11th, I was reminded how thankful I am for those who serve our country at great sacrifices to themselves and their families.  We are blessed to live in a great country.  Those men and women who have fought and died for us are true heroes and I am thankful for them. Check back later today for today's thankful post.  In the meantime, Take some time to enjoy the little things!

Today I am thankful for my extended family.  My husband and I have been blessed with great families.  Though many of them are far away and we rarely see them, they are an important part of our lives. What are you thankful for today?

Let's Got Those Stamps Organized!

Image
Welcome to my 3 Girl JAM post.  Did yesterday's post inspire you to get your stamps organized?  If you missed the post, please click here.   Now that the stamps have been all stored alphabetically, I needed a way to be able to find what I have.  This video ( click here ) started me on the process of getting organized.  I won't lie and say it was easy.  Indeed, it took a lot of time to get this set up the way I wanted it, but I am so pleased with the results.  I should be able to utilize what I already have now that I can quickly find those images.  So without further ado, here is my organizer: Of course I needed a few supplies to get started: 3 Girl JAM "Antique White" ribbon which can be found by clicking here . DCWV - Lavender Chateau Mat Stack Chipboard 2 large rings PaperTrey Ink - vintage cream card stock Archival black ink White card stock (lots and lots) Lavender card stock Crop-A-Dile and eyelets Cricut - From My Kitchen project Alpha Mini s

Today, I am thankful for an awesome God.  Awesome is not a word that I use often.  Why?  Because I feel it is a word that has become overused.  You can walk down the street and hear someone say, "Look at that awesome car".  I think that a car can be nice, but is it really awe inspiring? Yet my God is awe inspiring.  There are so many things that I can't understand.  Things that make me question life around me.  I see pain and suffering in so many.  Yet there is one thing I can rely on...the faithfulness of my awesome God! "Through the LORD's mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not.  They are new every morning; Great is your faithfulness." Lamentations 3:22-23 How about you?  What are you thankful for today?

How Do I Store My Stamps?

Image
Hello every one.  I have a special project to share with you today.  I have been having difficulty keeping track of my stamps.  Does anyone else have that problem?  This is actually the first in a 2-part series on stamp organization.  After watching several YouTube videos and asking advice from the 3 Girl JAM design team, this is the system I finally came up with to work for me.  I am really pleased with the way that it turned out.  I had a plan that I could work with when I was directed this idea by Sarah Hamer Designs.  I took my original plan and added the card stock dividers similar to her tutorial to create my system.  I ended up going from this mess... To this... I picked up the smaller basket from a thrift store for $1 I think and had to order 1 package of 5 1/2" X 8 1/2" dividers.  I had everything else on hand.  I'd say that is a pretty good start, wouldn't you?  Please watch the video to see exactly how made the dividers and why I chose to use pag

Days of Thanks #6 - November 6, 2012

Today I am thankful that I have the privilege (not to mention the responsibility) to vote.  There is little doubt that there are problems in our country.  However, I believe it is still the best country in the world and I am thankful. What are you thankful for today?

Days of Thanks #5 - November 5, 2012

Today I am thankful for the 2 best kids in the world.  The Lord has truly blessed me with my children and I am thankful for them  They are both good kids who love the Lord and try to do right.  They make me laugh and that's a good thing. Yes guys, you didn't blink.  I am your mummy.  Love you both. What are you thankful for today?

Days of Thanks #4 - November 4, 2012

Today I am thankful for the freedom to worship God without fear of retaliation.  We had great services today with a missionary to South Africa.  The Lord used him to preach just what I needed to hear.  It was a blessing. What are you thankful for today?

Days of Thanks #3 - November 3, 2012

Today I am thankful for lazy days.  I know this isn't very "deep", but sometimes you just need a lazy day.  On today's lazy day I am sitting here still in my PJ's (I know TMI) and I have been working on stamp inventory.  I need to get organized folks! I know it's a Little Thing, but I am thankful!

Dressing Up An Envelope

Image
After  making the odd-sized card you saw in yesterday's post, I needed an envelope to put it in.  To make it, I pulled out my Martha Stewart Scoreboard and a piece of 12X12 white cardstock and made one.  Then I went to work to make it classy.  After all, a great card should have a great envelope, right? I think this postcard paper from the My Mind's Eye Cowboy 6X6 pad was perfect for the envelope.  Plus it coordinates perfectly with the card. Supplies needed: My Mind's Eye - Cowboy 6X6 pad DCWV - Shimmer Stack Distress Ink - Iced Spruce and Antique Linen Gold "Bop" letter stickers (Sorry, I can't remember where I got these but I believe it was from Provo Craft or Pioneer.) In this video, I walk you through the decorating process, though not the actual making of the envelope. Thanks for stopping by today.  Remember to take some time to enjoy the little things.

Days Of Thanks #2 - November 2, 2012

Today I am thankful for my husband.  We will celebrate our 22nd anniversary on January 1.  He is my best friend and has been for a very long time.  God has truly blessed me by giving me such a wonderful husband. More than 10 years ago while working on a church building project, Daniel developed what was originally diagnosed as pneumonia.  As the project progressed, he developed a strange muscle pain that we initially thought was from the heavy labor of the construction.  However, the pain never went completely away.  Daniel's MD sent him to a neurologist who ran multiple tests and checked for some very scary diseases.  He was unable to determine what was going on and Daniel began seeing his current neurologist.  After all this time, we have never received a definitive diagnosis and Daniel lives in constant pain. Despite everything he goes through on a daily basis, he continues to be a great husband and father.  He works hard.  He strives to continue to serve the Lord in whateve

Shabby Numbers Birthday Card

Image
I trust you are having a supercalifragilisticexpealidoscious day!  I had a very busy work day and I am so happy to be home and in my comfy PJ's.  I made a fabulous card for my little brother's birthday.  I even thought that I made a video...until I went to turn it off.  That's when I discovered that I had never turned it ON!  Oops.  So instead, I have an old-fashioned tutorial for you.  So without further ado... Here are most of the items that I used to make this card: 3 Girl Jam - burlap trim Close to My Heart - Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge; Celebrations stamp set (Artist pack exclusive) Paper Trey Ink - Vintage Cream cardstock Distress Ink - antique linen, iced spruce, frayed burlap My Mind's Eye - Cowboy 6X6 pad Adhesive - Zig glue pin, foam adhesive, ATG, yQuick Dr To start with, I made the base of my card from the DCWV Shimmer stack.  This sparkly paper was cut at 6"X12" and scored at 6" to from a 6" square card.  I saved the

Days of Thanks #1 - November 1, 2012

I had a lovely, long chat with my mother this morning discussing upcoming Thanksgiving plans.  The Lord willing, we are planning to spend Thanksgiving with my family in a different state.  This will be the first time that we have done this in many, many years and I am so excited.  Somehow during the discussion I remembered that last November, I posted a new "thankful" post nearly every day during the month. Guess what, I am going to try it again this year.  I encourage you to leave a comment each day telling me what you are thankful for that day.  Though most of my posts will likely be serious in nature, there may also be some that will tickle your funny bone.  You just never know what there is to be thankful for on any given day.  Let's flood my blog with thankfulness, shall we? I thought today I would kick things off by going back to the little things that I have been reminding you about.   I have so much to be thankful for and some of them are "really big"
