"Love" ATC's

Image
Good morning everyone.  I decided to make some ATC's to share with you today.  I really like Artist Trading Cards (aka ATC's) - maybe its because I collected baseball cards when I was younger.  Anyway, these are much prettier than baseball cards and fun to make too.  Grab some pretty ribbon from 3 Girl JAM and play along. I used: 3 Girl JAM Antique White crinkle ribbon which you can find here . Chipboard - cut to 2.5 X 3.5 Red and grey Coredinations paper Versamark ink Hero Arts - Vintage Brocade mini background stamp White embossing powder Small off white roses Creative Inspirations paint - Tutu Pink and Coal Spellbinder's Labels #3 Vintage Valentine images from Etsy Glossy Accents "Be My Valentine" paper from The Paper Studio Be sure to check out the video.  Here I share the "rules" of ATC's and point out the products that I used.  Thanks so much for stopping by.  Remember to take some time to enjoy the little things.

14 Days of Valentines Giveaway Winner

I must admit that it was a very interesting day for me.  My family and I were able to attend an event in the city that we have enjoyed in the past.  The main reason for going to this event was to see an old friend of my husbands.  We went out to dinner for BBQ and just had a fun time catching up. Not so fun was my crafting experience for the day.  I have 2 projects ready to go in the Cricut Craft Room and I was really trying to get both of them done today so that I could post them over the next few days.  Unfortunately, the Imagine is printing and not cutting.  I updated the firmware, but it still wouldn't cut.  I'm going to have to work on it later because I work 2- 12 hour shifts in the next 2 days.  I was able to draw the winner of the 14 Days of Valentines Giveaway. The random winner of the 14 Days of Valentines Giveaway is: Lisa F. I will be contacting you soon to get your address.  I would like to thank everyone who participated.  It was fun for me and I hope it

Thanks so much for dropping by today.  Have you entered the giveaway yet?  You have until 11:59 tonight.  I think that this is a great card to finish off the giveaway.  It is the 6X6" Valentine card that I made for my husband.  However, by just changing out a couple of the papers, it would make a great "anytime" love note. Here's what you need: 6"X12" piece of Coordinations textured cardstock Fancy Pants "Love Note" 6X6 pad Cricut Art Philosophy cartidge (hearts cut at 1.5" and 1.75"; the sign behind the hugs and kisses stamp is actually 1/2 of the sign that was cut at 2" from the cartridge) K. Birthday Balloons

Image
To find out details on my current giveaway, please click here . Though my husband's birthday was last month, I am just now getting around to showing the card I made for him.  This really simple card was made using the "Life of the Party" 6X6 pad and Woolies from Basic Grey. Since I wasn't concerned about mailing this card, I made it a 6X6 inch card.  The card base was made from blue Coordinations textured paper.  I hand cut the banner and used the Woolies to make balloons.  I pulled some solid baker's twine from my stash to form the strings on the balloons.  The sentiment was stamped using Archival black ink with an unknown stamp.  I finished the inside of the card as well, but did not photograph it.  You can see it by viewing the video. This card went together in a matter of minutes but still looked great.  Thanks for stopping by and remember to take some time to enjoy the little things.

Gift Card and Box

Image
This year things were a bit crazy on my husband's birthday.  We both had to work and were very busy.  We decided to wait and celebrate with his birthday dinner until the day after his birthday.  However, I am BIG on doing something on the actual date, so I made this little tag and altered a box to put some treats in for him.  I then had his boss pick it up from me so that it would be waiting when he got to work in the morning.  His day was so crazy that he didn't even have time to open the box or look at the tag so he thought it was from his boss.  Sometimes life just gets TOO BUSY! For the tag, I used: Playing card and Rook card Muse token The Paper Studio - Black & White Doodle hearts paper Fancy Pants - My Family paper Tim Holtz - Playful Journey stamp set Thickers 3 Girl JAM - Antique White Archival Black Ink Paper Trey Inc - Vintage Cream paper Large Tag from the Paper Company Celebrate and Happy Birthday stamps* Wet Wipe * Now I know that you ar

Valentine Stick Pins - 14 Days of Valentines

Image
I'm so sorry that I missed yesterday's Valentine post.  I just didn't get there.  Since I didn't make it, there will be 2 posts today.  Check back later today to see the second post.  This post is all about stick pins.  I really like stick pins.  They are simple to make and make a nice addition to cards, layouts, and ATC's.  They are also fun to swap and these were made for a swap over at artandsassy.ning.com.  I always make myself a set while I'm at it.  Today, I made an extra set to add to the Giveaway package. Aren't they pretty?  They are also easy to make.  I used beads and charms that I picked up at Hobby Lobby.  The pins are floral pins that I picked up at JoAnn's.  I also used some spacer beads from my stash.  The holders were cut from the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge and paper from K & Company.  I believe that the lace is from Martha Stewart.  The holder that I made for the giveaway is a little different.  Be sure to check out the vi

Double Heart Valentine - 14 Days of Valentines

Image
Good morning.  I had planned to post something else for today, but due to the fact that I spent nearly 14 hours working yesterday and work today and tomorrow, I thought I would "recycle" an oldie but goodie.  This is a card that I made probably 2 or more years ago for my hubby.  I hope you enjoy it. This is a 8 inch X 6 inch card folded to be 4 inches wide by 6 inches tall (I wasn't using an envelope).  The key and keyhole is my first Tim Holtz embellishment purchase. The front of the card The inside of the card Black card stock was cut at 6X4 and adhered to the inside of the card. The red printed paper is cut at 5 3/4 X 3 3/4 and punched with the Fiskars heart border punch and adhered to the black base.  White faux stitching was made with a gel pen. The opening of the heart - The hand written sentiment is covered by a torn piece of paper. Supplies: Life's a Journey paper pack from K & Company               Cricut cartridge - Home Deco

Stamped Valentines - 14 Days of Valentines

Image
Welcome to day 8 of the 14 Days of Valentines.  It's hard to believe that we are over halfway through these posts.  I have had a lot of fun.  I hope you have too.  Today's Valentines were made to be 4X4 cards and each was stamped. For all the card bases, cardstock from The Paper Studio's "Holiday" pack was used. The patterned papers were from K & Company (using up scraps) and from The Paper Studio ("Black and White Doodle Hearts" and "Be My Valentine") The stamps were: "Apple of My Eye" and "Cuckoo for You" from We R Memory Keepers "I Heart You" from K. Andrew Designs "Chocolate Box", "Envelope", and "Cupcake" from the Sweet Cheri collection by Imaginisce I used Jenny Bowlin "Cough Syrup"  and Ranger Archival black ink to stamp the images and sentiments.  Some of the images were stamped after coloring the stamp with Zig markers.  Other images were s

Tootsie Pop Valentines - 14 Days of Valentines

Hello everyone.  I have a simple and fun project to share with you today.  This sweet treat will taste so good on Valentines Day.  Plus this is another project that doesn't require a lot of supplies. I used the left-over paper from the Valentines earlier in the week and some stickers to put these together.  The video shows all the steps. I am linking this project up to the Decorate to Celebrate Valentines Challenge .  Wouldn't these make great party favors? Today's "double entry" is to use leftovers to make a Valentines treat.  I hope you take the challenge.

Valentine Treat Bags - 14 Days of Valentines

Image
I am so sorry that this is posting so late.  I've not been moving well (or quickly) today.  Tomorrow's post will be a bit late as well.  Hopefully not this late though. I have a special Valentines treat bag to share with you today.  I have some special "little people" these were designed to delight.  I used some "leftovers" to create the design on the bags. I used the paper that was left when all the hearts were cut out for the "10 Ways to Love" post found here .  The heart tags were the centers of the large hearts from the same post.  Isn't this a great way to use up supplies?  3 Girl JAM "cherry lipstick" ribbon makes a beautiful bag closer and holds the tags in place.  I sprayed the bags with Candy Apple Red and Cherub Pink sprays from Tattered Angels.  The tops of the bags were cut with a scalloped border punch by Fiskars.  Now I just need to fill these up with some special treats. I am going to be linking this up to

No Cricut? No Stamps? No Problem! - 14 Days of Valentines

Image
I am linking today's project to Link Up Tuesday by Pink Cricut . Today I have a simple project for you.  I made 3" X 3" Valentines and I didn't use a Cricut or stamps.  I used paper, stickers, and a few other supplies to encourage you to make some Valentines.  This is a simple project so that you can try out card making without breaking the bank while getting supplies.  In fact, you could make something similar to the cards I made with very few supplies and very little cost.  Let's get started. You will need some solid colored cardstock - I used pink from my stash and red from a packet of paper from The Paper Studio (Hobby Lobby brand) Patterned paper - I used paper from K& Company and Provo Craft Stickers - I used Studio G and EK Success Banners - These were from K&Company Adhesive - I use ATG Ribbon - today's was from Really Reasonable Ribbon Glitter Glue & Glossy Accents Some good places to look for inexpensive supp

10 Ways to Love - 14 Days of Valentines

Image
Today's post is more of a reflections post than one that you will use at home, though you could incorporate something similar for your Valentines Day decor.  I cut out about a hundred 2.5" hearts from the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge.  I also cut out ten 6" hearts and ten 5" hearts.  On the video, I give you a quick tip using the "center point" button on the Cricut. Each month I decorate the bulletin board at church.  I don't have a teacher's supply store in my town and I haven't made it to the city lately so I needed to come up with the border.  That's where the Cricut came in.  I used paper from K&Company.  The letters were cut at 3" using the Art Philosophy cartridge in a light pink from my stash. Of course the most important part is the message I was trying to portray.  My husband ran across something and I used that.  Unfortunately, we don't know the original source in order to credit them.  The message is good so

14 Days of Valentines - Hand Cream

Image
Today I have a Pinterest inspired project.  I found this pin last week.  It was originally posted by the mom from 4 Growing Boys.  The original tutorial can be found by clicking here . Here's what you need: Johnsons Baby Lotion (16 ounces - Must use this brand) Vaseline - (8 ounces) Vitamin E Cream (8 ounces) Cream together and  place in containers. I found these cute containers at my local dollar store. I tied the bows using my 3 Girl JAM bow maker and 3 colors of 3 Girl JAM ribbon: white, baby girl, and cherry lipstick.  All of the ribbon and this fun bow maker can be purchased here .  The recipe made enough to fill 30 of these hearts and to then filled the leftover vitamin E containers.  My hands feel so soft. I plan to include 1 of these in the prize packet for the current giveaway if I can figure out a way to include it to ship safely.  Link up one of your Valentine's projects to receive a chance to win.  Also, remember that every time you link up a project

14 Days of Valentines - Twinchies

Image
What in the world is a twinchie?  That's a very good question and one that I needed an explanation for as well. For a full explanation about this juicy little morsel, please watch the video.  It was super easy to make and something pretty that I will be able to add to cards.  You could even add it as an embellishment on a scrapbook layout. In the meantime, here's what I used to make them: Glitter Glue - unknown brand from my stash Fancy Pants - Love Notes 6X6 pad lace (possibly from Martha Stewart) Want-2-Scrap pearl bling CTMH - Ruby Ink Glossy Accents heart charms (from eBay) silver brads I plan to include 1 of these in the prize packet for the current giveaway.  Link up one of your Valentine's projects to receive a chance to win.  Also, remember that every time you link up a project to the 3 Girl JAM "3D Valentine's Challenge", you will also receive a chance to win.  For all the rules, click here . Love Notes - 14 Days of Valentines (Bonus Post)

Image
Here is the bonus post I had for you today.  One day as I was cruising through Pinterest, I came across a pin where someone had cut out hearts.  Beginning on February 1st, they added a new heart each day to their loved one's bedroom door.  Each heart has a different thing you love about the person receiving the heart.  I love this idea.  Unfortunately, I can't credit the original pinner as they did not provide a link. Can you imagine what this door will look like in 14 days?  It's going to be so fun. In the video, I share the supplies I used as well as the sizes I cut the hearts.  I am also including a full set of these hearts as part of the giveaway package, so you will want to enter below.  The "double entry" for this post is simple... Just start something similar for someone you love and tell me about it in the comments below.  You don't even need to show me a picture.  Already past February 1?  Why not catch up today.  Can you imagine how your loved
