Image
Today is the first day of Crafty Fun with Aunt Cheri.  Though this series was designed for my nieces and nephews, I hope you might find some little people to share it with. Please enjoy the video. Greek Tortellini Salad - Pinterest Inspired Recipe

Image
It's been quite awhile since I posted a recipe.  Recently, I found this delicious looking recipe on Pinterest and I knew it would be perfect for me to try.  However, there's a problem.  "What?", you say.  The problem is that no one in my family is even interested in trying it.  My husband doesn't even like the smell of the feta cheese.  I knew this was going to have to be a work recipe.  It was a hit and is already gone. I am not going to give you the recipe, but will provide the link where I found it.  You can go to the site by clicking here .  There is a whole lot of delicious looking food going on over at Two Peas and Their Pod! Thanks so much for stopping by.  Remember to take some time to enjoy the little things.

Estate Sale Haul

Image
Hello everyone.  Last weekend I decided that I wanted to go to some yard sales.  However, I didn't want to spend a huge amount of time and money looking for treasures aka junk I didn't need.  I was looking for very specific items so I went through the classifieds very carefully.  When my eyes wondered to an estate sale that was being run by the owners of an antique store (which is now closed), I knew this was going to be my only stop this weekend.  For better or worse, I wasn't going anywhere else!  As you can see in the video, this was definitely a "for better" situation. This typewriter is something that I mention in the video but do not show. Thanks so much for stopping by today.  Remember to take some time to enjoy the little things!

Good morning everyone.  I hope you are having a beautiful day.  If you are coming over from the 3 Girl JAM challenge blog - welcome. I have seen several different "window" cards lately and I wanted to give it a try so I decided that these birthday balloons would work well.  I also wanted to make this card for an adult male so I wanted it to be more muted and in masculine colors. Introduction to Crafty Fun with Aunt Cheri

Image
Today I am introducing a new video series that was designed for my little people.  My nieces and nephews are scattered throughout the United States and I really don't get to see them often.  I decided it would be fun to craft with them via YouTube.  The original idea was based on a project that I found on Pinterest.  From there it became a 10 week craft series - "Summer Fun with Aunt Cheri".  I may expand it to 11 depending on the feedback that I get from my family.  That's when I decided that I should change the name to "Crafty Fun with Aunt Cheri".  Why?  Because I would like to continue the series throughout the school year by doing 1-2 crafts per month.  Let's see how this goes first though. What should you expect? 1. Simple projects every week.  When I say simple, I mean really simple.  However, there will be some prep work for you.  I'll try to give you a head's up on the next week's prep work. 2. Simple Bible memory.  Each week

Adar Scrubs Review

Image
Recently I was contacted by Uniformed Scrubs and asked to review one of their new summer scrub tops.  While browsing through their website, they appear to have a good selection of nurse's scrubs at prices that are comparable to my local scrub store. I was sent one of the new Adar Summer scrub tops to review and I must say that the cranberry color is gorgeous.  I typically wear black scrubs that are provided by my employer so adding a pop of color on occasion is refreshing. So what did I find out about wearing this new top?  First of all, there is PLENTY of pocket space with 2 hip pockets and one chest.  I don't typically use the chest pocket, but if you do you might find it useful.  Secondly, at the end of a 12 hour shift, the top was just as wrinkle free as it was when I started the day.  It was also very comfortable.  The last thing that I found was that the size seems to run pretty "standard".  I ordered it a size larger than normal since I didn't have

As my little part to help Angie celebrate, I made this pretty little card. Items used: Cherry

Navy & White Wedding Card #2

Last week I shared a card made with the scrumptious Navy crinkle ribbon from 3 Girl JAM's Navy Bundle.  Today, I have a new twist to the same card.  In fact, I used nearly the same products, but by adding one more ribbon and mixing things up a bit, I changed the look of the card quite a bit. I used the following products - 3 Girl JAM Navy bundle - Navy and Dress White White Georgia Pacific Cardstock DCWV blue paper from the Shimmer Stack 3 Girl JAM Bow Maker Cuttlebug Birds and Swirls embossing folder Recollections Bling Spellbinders - Small scalloped rectangles Wedding Sentiments digi from Sweet and Sassy If you would like to see the original card, please click <HERE> to compare them.  I hope it will inspire you to mix up your supplies a little bit to create even more great projects. I have also included a video tutorial that you might find helpful. Thanks so much for stopping by today.  Have a great day and remember to take some time to enjoy the little

Life's Ups & Downs

Image
Do you ever feel like you are riding a roller coaster as you go through life?  Some days are full of laughter and sunshine only to be replaced by gloom and storm clouds.  I am so blessed to know that my God is able to see me through the ups as well as the downs of life.  Do you know Him?  Can you trust Him with your ups and downs? My son recently showed me a picture that he found while on the internet or Facebook.  It was a picture of an EKG and said "If there are no ups and downs, you're dead".  When you think about it, that's really true.  The ups help keep us sane and feeling victorious.  The downs have the potential to teach us so much about ourselves, others, and even God.  I wonder if we would enjoy and appreciate the ups so much if we didn't have the downs to compare them too?  I really doubt it. As I pondered the picture, I thought that you could make a great card of encouragement with this concept.  I don't think you will ever find a card like thi

Paper Saving Masculine Birthday Cards

Image
Today I have a fun project to share with you.  I actually made these after I made some similar ones for women.  You will see them in a future post.  I did not make these following a sketch.  It was just a concept that I had in my head where I was trying to make a bunch of birthday cards quickly while using my 6X6 paper to the best advantage. I used the following products: Basic Grey - Shine On 6X6 pad Georgia Pacific - white cardstock Vintage Photo Distress Ink Memento Tuxedo Black ink Cuttlebug Happy Birthday embossing folder Hero Arts - All Occasion Messages I only used 5 full 6X6 sheets of decorative paper, 5-6 sheets of GP card stock, and some scraps to make 8 cards.  Not bad! Check back soon for a video tutorial where I show you how I made 4 feminine cards using similar techniques.  I think you will be glad that you did. Thanks so much for stopping by.  In the meantime, remember to take some time to enjoy the little things.

Navy & White Wedding Card

Image
Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I am happy to share this card with you.  I designed it for a special young couple who will be getting married this weekend.  I really like the white on white color scheme for wedding cards, but I really wanted to add a punch of color.  Knowing that I had the Navy crinkle ribbon from 3 Girl JAM in my stash, I knew exactly which direction that I wanted to go.  If you don't have the Navy ribbon from the Navy bundle, you can go here to get yours. I also used the following items: White cardstock from Paper Trey Ink Recollections bling "Birds and Swirls" Cuttlebug embossing folder Navy paper from the DCWV Shimmer stack Wedding Day Wishes digital stamp from Sweet and Sassy Stamps Spellbinders - Small Scalloped Rectangles I have a video tutorial today that I would like to share.  It even includes a quick tip that you might be interested in viewing. Senior Picture Album

Image
It's probably hard to believe, but I really do know how to scrapbook.  Unfortunately I am at a time in my life that I really don't have time.  This is why you don't see layouts from me and also why I plan on taking up Project Life.  However, there are those special occasions that I step up and do a mini album of some kind.  My daughter's graduation was one of those occasions.  I printed a bunch of her senior pictures and went to work on this quick album.  I will say it was very quick - 3 to 3.5 hours start to finish once I chose the paper.  It helped that my mom was there to help sort out the photos. I found this 8X8 album at my local Joann's several weeks ago and knew it would be perfect since it was in my daughter's favorite colors.  Finding paper was a bit of a challenge since I didn't head to the city.  However, while looking around my craft room I found a little file of paper that my daughter had chosen as her own.  I grabbed that and knew that I c
