Pretty Purple Gift Bag

Image
For my regular followers, I know it has been a long time since I had a crafty post for you.  I may have fewer posts over the next few weeks, but hopefully life is slowing down enough to at least spend a little time crafting and posting.  By October, we should be back into the swing of things.  Perfect timing since I love Fall and Winter crafting. Today is my day to post over at 3 Girl JAM.  If you are checking in from there, welcome.  Take a little look around and see if there is anything that you like. A good friend recently celebrated her birthday and I wanted to give her a little something.  I decided to take some time and make a special gift bag for her.  Her favorite color is purple (that's not why we are friends), so I thought I could decorate a bag just to suit her.  She told me she loved it and that makes me very happy.  A little Sterling 3 Girl JAM ribbon was the perfect accent for the purple paint. I also used the following products: Kraft paper bag (a

Just Checking In...

I wanted to let you all know that I am still here.  This month has been very busy with work stuff and there is a lot going on.  I never would have dreamed I would have gone so long without posting anything.  Please bear with me as I get through the next few weeks.  Life should slow down a bit after that. Have a great day and remember to take some time to enjoy the little things.

Crafty Fun With Aunt Cheri - Frames

Image
It's hard to believe that today is the last day in the summer part of this series.  I have enjoyed it so much and I hope that you have too.  I hope to have another project sometime in September.  I used purchased foam frames.  I also purchased a package of foam and cut more out to decrease costs.  The foam stickers were from previous projects.  Gold colored stickles and white 3 Girl JAM ribbon finished everything off beautifully. Be sure to check back in September for another Crafty Fun project.  Thanks for stopping by today.  Remember to take some time to enjoy the little things.

Graphic 45 - 12 Days of Christmas

Image
My package arrived from Graphic 45!  What package you say?  The one that I WON when Graphic 45 was giving sneak peeks of their new releases before CHA Summer.  I can't even begin to say how excited I am.  As much as I like "ABC Primer" and "Places in Time", this new collection has gone straight to the top of the list.  Come and take a look. In the video, I go through the whole paper pad page by page and share it with you all. Check back for projects featuring this gorgeous collection as we get closer to Christmas (or maybe a bit sooner).  Thanks for stopping by today and remember to take some time to enjoy the little things.

Here is the video that shows most of her prize. Thanks for stopping by today.  Remember to take some time to enjoy the little things.

Back to School ATC's

Image
Welcome to my little part of the 3 Girl JAM "Back to School with Ribbon" challenge.  Have you checked out the new flair at 3 Girl JAM?  It is ready to use on those special back to school projects you want to make. I know that you can find lots of paper with a school theme.  However, Graphic 45's "ABC Primer" is without a doubt my very favorite.  I love the vintage feel and knew that I needed to pull it out to make some back to school ATC's.  The Holly Berry ribbon paired with the flair created the perfect accent to finish them off. Supplies: 3 Girl JAM - Back to School Flair and Holly Berry ribbon Graphic 45 - ABC Primer Adhesive - ATG and Glossy Accents Studio G glitter glue 7 Gypsies alphabet paperclips Chipboard Sakura stardust clear pen Scor-tape Michael's bling "Aunt Lydia's" crochet thread The flair on these 2 ATC's are only a part of what you will receive if you purchase the package.  The smooth backing is

ATC Holder

Image
To enter my current giveaway, click here .  Remember that it closes at 11:59PM on the 15th. I recently have been posting quite a few ATC's, and I wanted to make a holder to carry them in my purse.  I designed this little holder that I think will be perfect.  I grabbed some 3 Girl JAM Witch's Brew and Baby Boy ribbon and went to work. I also needed some adhesive and the perfect paper.  The 6X6 pattern pad and the 8X8 paper pad from Graphic 45's "Secret Garden" collection fit the bill exactly. The measurements for this holder are discussed in my video.  I also show you where to score and tape the edges to form a little book. As you can see, ATC's fit perfectly inside of the pockets. Don't forget that there is still time to enter my current giveaway.  Just click on the link at the top of the post to enter.  Thanks for stopping by and remember to take some time to enjoy the little things today.

Krafty Squares Quick & Easy Cards

Image
Click HERE to join the current giveaway. I was going through a small stash of cards that I have and I found some cards that I made back in May.  You can find out all about them by clicking here .  Though they are square and smaller than an A2 sized card, I think they are cute.  More importantly, they provided the perfect inspiration for today's cards.  I made 5 cards and they went together very quickly. Here are the supplies and tools I used to get started: Paper trimmer and Martha Stewart Scoreboard Hero Arts "All Occasion Messages" stamp set "Blossom Soup" 6X6 paper pad from Jillibean Soup Kraft Cardstock (base) Memnto Tuxedo Black ink 3 Girl JAM - Aqua Splash and Dress White White - Sakura Gelly Roll pen ATG To begin: Cut an 8.5" X 11" piece of Kraft cardstock in half and score to form a 4.25" X 5.5" card base.  Cut 1.5" squares from several different papers.  Adhere them along the top and bottom of the card a

Chunky ATC

Image
To enter my current giveaway, click here . The very first ATC I saw on YouTube intrigued me so much that I knew I needed to learn more about them.  They weren't quite as popular then and there were fewer videos to watch about them, but I set out to learn all that I could.  I learned 3 basic things: 1. Size Matters - ATC's are 2.5" X 3.5" only 2. They should never be sold 3. The rest is up to you I was hooked from the 1st one I ever made.  I altered a 7Gypsies ATC library drawer and began swapping as well as creating my own. Recently, I was challenged to make a "Chunky ATC".  I jumped into the challenge with both feet and created this one-of-a-kind ATC.  It will be included in a swap that I have coming up. Supplies: Gameboard cut into an ATC Garage Sale lace find (white) 3 Girl JAM white ribbon Gold button - from my stash Folk Art Metallic Amethyst Paint and homemade spray Pale green paper from my stash Scor-Tape and Glossy Accents

Revisiting Old Cricut Cartridges - Scandinavian Christmas Cards

Image
Click HERE to join the current giveaway. I know that Christmas is still months away.  However, I DO NOT want to be finishing cards the week before Christmas this year.  I want to take time to enjoy the little things around the Christmas season and not be rushing to finish.  I want to spend time focusing on Jesus - the reason for the season.  I want to spend days with my family.  I want to make lots of candy and bake delicious treats.  I want to have a variety of cards and not just mass produce 100 or more cards that are the same.  Want to know a secret?  Last year I bought Christmas cards...shhh.... So, lets pull out those Cricut cartridges and get a kickstart to the Christmas season.  I personally don't plan to purchase new cartridges this year.  Though I may buy a few stamps (G45 has the new "12 Days of Christmas" set), I really want to use up my stash while revisiting some old Cricut cartridges. I chose Scandinavian Christmas Cards for my first set of Christmas

Shepherd's Pie

Image
Click HERE to join the current giveaway. It's been awhile since I posted a recipe and even longer since I made this dish.  Many years ago, my brother-in-law taught me how to make Shepherd's Pie and it is a favorite with my family.  Isn't it funny how we forget those family favorites until something comes up to remind us?  This time the reminder came to my daughter when she tried a different type of Shepherd's Pie.  She came home and wanted this one so we made it.  The best part is that when you make 1, it's not that hard to make several so we made 2 more to freeze. Ingredients: 1 pound of hamburger 1 small can of tomato soup 1 can of green beans (I prefer French cut, but only had regular cut on hand) Mashed potatoes (this is the first time that we have used fresh potatoes.  I was taught to use instant potatoes) Cheddar Cheese - 1.5-2 cups shredded Optional - chopped onion (We used 1 onion to make 3 batches) Instructions: Brown hamburger and onion.

Crafty Fun with Aunt Cheri - Let's Make Cards

Image
I couldn't do a whole series and not focus at least one week on cards could I?  Nope.  Today's cards were made from cards that I purchased years ago from HSN or QVC.  They were made by Hot Off the Press and are a great way for beginner cardmakers to start.  I used the the "Blessings to You" and "You're Always in my Heart" stamp sets from Hero Arts.  I added a bit of scrap paper and an old Valentine and we had a couple of simple cards.  Perfect to make with little hands. Here's a video that I hope you enjoy. Have a great day and remember to take some time to enjoy the little things.
